Audi Tradition is entering four historic racing cars in the "International Edelweiss Mountain Prize Rossfeld Berchtesgaden". When the many fans gather at this historic hill climb from September 23 to 25, Walter Röhrl will also be there as a guest of honor.
In 1980 and 1982, Röhrl secured the world championship title with 6 victories in WRC rally races, making him the only German world rally champion. The absolute highlight: Röhrl whips up the Alpine road in an Audi Sport quattro S1 from Audi Tradition on the afternoon of September 24.
On the other two days, two-time German rally champion Harald Demuth will be driving this outstanding rally car from the 1985 season. Also at the start of the 1560-metre-high pass road is another racing car from Audi's rich history that is already more than 50 years old: the DKW F 11/64 Sport. This car, known as the DKW Junior, was very popular with private drivers at the time due to its manageable cost. The DKW Junior models achieved very good results in their respective classes, both in rallying and on circuits. At the Roßfeld, Hagen Arlt drives a car that was used in the 1963 season. The Düsseldorf native was already driving the car as a private driver at the time.
The Audi Tradition presentation will be rounded off by two spectacular racing cars that will be on display in the exhibition area: The Audi 200 quattro Trans Am from 1988 and the Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO from 1989. With these two motorsport icons, Audi was very successful on the circuits in the USA after the great rally era.
