Anyone on the road in the Stuttgart/Ludwigsburg/Heilbronn area on Sunday, October 20, 2019, could easily be amazed, as there will be hordes of spruced-up classic cars on the roads. There is a reason for this, of course: Renningen-based driving culture specialist Retro Promotion is inviting people to the "Retro Season End 2019".
Both drivers and fans get their money's worth
The destination of the rally will be the parking lot of the Hofmeister furniture store in Bietigheim-Bissingen for the first time, where over 900 vehicles are expected to be on display. In addition to the rolling veterans, visitors can expect live music, delicious food from the barbecue and free activities for children. The end of the season is "a cherished tradition before the winter break", says Karl Ulrich Herrmann, Managing Director of Retro Promotion GmbH, which organizes the day of action in cooperation with the furniture store, which has been based in the region for over 125 years.
"We are delighted that we can once again present a very special event this year, where drivers and fans alike will get their money's worth." Herrmann, who launched what is now the world's largest trade fair for driving culture - Retro Classics® Stuttgart - around two decades ago, looks beyond the purely nostalgic aspect: "The automobile has shaped our entire Western civilization and will continue to do so. It is not a museum piece, but a living cultural asset." A presentation of this magnitude is therefore "more than just a colorful family afternoon", as it promotes the acceptance of the historic automobile among the public.
Gift for early bookers
All participants can look forward to a small surprise, and the first 500 can take home a commemorative plaque - and admire it from the comfort of their sofa during the cold season.
Of course, there will also be plenty to eat and drink: A hearty "driver's breakfast" in the "Ambiente" restaurant or a Swabian "retro plate" (for participants at a reduced price).participants at a reduced price) are an excellent way to fortify yourself - and perhaps even have a "gasoline conversation" or two. A glass of Secco is free for all visitors!
