Over the past two editions, Retro Classics Cologne has been able to sharpen its own profile, which is tailored to the special conditions in Cologne. Countless positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors, from the industry and the scene confirmed the trade fair concept. Now it's time for the next round: from November 15 to 17, collectors, dealers and classic car enthusiasts will once again find everything their hearts desire in the modern halls of the Cologne Exhibition Center - pre-war veterans and modern luxury cars, historic commercial vehicles and mighty US road cruisers. The organizers are expecting more than 450 exhibitors and 1500 vehicles. Insurance companies, restorers, outfitters and clubs as well as a large parts market round off the comprehensive offer.
Cologne trade fair with "optimal infrastructure"
"We are highly satisfied with how the events have gone so far and, of course, a little proud that our trade fair has been able to establish itself so well here in Cologne, in the heart of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region," says Karl-Ulrich Herrmann, Managing Partner of Retro Messen GmbH. "This success is motivation for us to continue developing Retro Classics Cologne and to reinvent it a little each time. Here at Kölnmesse, we have the ideal infrastructure for this.
"Special shows: Pre-war cars and "movie cars"
An important core element of all Retro Classics trade fairs are traditionally the high-caliber special shows, which are dedicated to big names or forgotten brands and each highlight a specific aspect of mobility history. In Cologne, visitors can look forward to an exhibition with exhibits from the legendary coachbuilder Erdmann-Rossi as well as a reunion with old acquaintances from film and television - probably including the famous DeLorean from Back to the Future and the talking K.I.T.T from the hit TV series Knight Rider with David Hasselhoff.
Exclusive driving fun: Neo Classics
"When buying a classic car today, the focus is less on a passion for collecting or investment and more on driving pleasure and emotions," says Karl-Ulrich Herrmann. This is now "clearly noticeable" at the Retro Classics trade fairs and explains the rising sales figures in the so-called Neo Classics segment.
The high-priced and mostly high-horsepower manufactory vehicles, one-offs and automobiles up to 20 years old are "an integral part of the historic driving culture" and have therefore been an important segment in the overall range of Retro Classics Cologne from the very beginning.
Entertaining and exciting: supporting program
Of course, a trade fair like Retro Classics Cologne not only impresses with its range of products and exhibitions, but also with a finely tuned, varied supporting program. In addition to the Allianz Retro Night, which brings the first day of the fair to a pleasant close with prominent guests, lots of music and refined culinary delights, the Classicbid automobile auctions are among the exciting highlights.
Important information about Retro Classics Cologne
The sister event of the world's largest trade fair for driving culture, Stuttgart's Retro Classics, opens its doors for the third time in 2019 in the Autostadt Köln. Dealers, fans and collectors from the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region, neighboring European countries and around the world can look forward to a wide range of classic cars, youngtimers, Neo Classics vehicles, rarities and parts, complemented by top-class special shows and an informative and entertaining supporting program. A compact trade fair with a net area of around 40,000 square meters that "fits in well with our city", as Cologne's Lord Mayor Henriette Reker said about the first edition.
