For a few days, picturesque Sankt Gilgen on Lake Wolfgangsee will once again become a Mecca for Audi quattro fans throughout Europe - from July 5 to 8, the quattrolegende, which has mutated into a cult event, will take place with a few new features.
Rudi Stohl and Rolf Schmidt will be there again - they, like the German Harald Demuth, are among the much-loved regulars at the quattrolegende. Reini Sampl is bringing a special treat to the start as a safety vehicle - an Audi S1 E2 "Audi Sport".
The cars in the historic quattro exhibition will be on display from Thursday, July 6.
On Friday, Gmunden-Laarkirchen airfield will host a novelty - for the first time this year, spectators will be allowed to watch the acceleration race on the airfield runway, which was held for the first time last year. The organizers explain: "The acceleration races went down particularly well with the participating teams last year - this year, fans can also enjoy this unique event there."
Finally, on Saturday, the traditional regularity race over the Alpine road will take place on the already familiar Tauplitzalm. There, the many fans expected again can take advantage of a shuttle service or even take the cable car up the mountain for free.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the quattrolegende field returns to Sankt Gilgen in the early evening to present itself to friends of the Audi quattro. It is not only possible to talk petrol with the stars and the vehicle owners, it is also definitely encouraged - after all, the "Austrian Gemütlichkeit" is one of the mostAfter all, "Austrian conviviality" is one of the characteristics that has made this event a must-attend event for the more than 400 participating teams far beyond Austria.
