Never before has the popular classic car meeting O-iO (Oldtimer in Obwalden) been so fully booked so early. There are already 451 participating vehicles registered and more are being added every day. By Whitsun (June 7 and 8, 2025), many more classic cars are sure to be registered and the 500 cars will certainly be exceeded.
A festival for the people
It is well known that the whole village of Sarnen takes part in the O-iO, with hundreds of people strolling through the village streets and alleyways on Saturday to admire the beautiful cars.
Politicians also take part: the entire Obwalden cantonal government, including the mayor and governor, are registered. Also present: Erich Ettlin, member of the Council of States, and Monika Rüegger, member of the National Council.
While other cantonal capitals almost seem to be waging war on cars, they are celebrated in Obwalden's capital.
It's worth taking a look at the website of the classic car meeting, because there you can not only see the program, but also the participating vehicles that have already been registered, which, from Alfa Romeo to Zedel, seem to lack a car brand that you can remember.
