For several years now, the Oldtimer Galerie Toffen has been organizing an auction on the Zürichberg in June together with the Dolder Classics. As the Dolder Classics had to be moved to Oerlikon this year due to the renovation of the ice rink on the Dolder, Reinhard Schmidlin and his team looked for an alternative venue. And they found it at the Grand Hotel Dolder. The auction will now take place there in a very elegant setting on June 17, 2017, with around 40 cars going under the hammer.
Interesting rarities
The first vehicles have already been announced, such as a BMW Z8 Roadster from 2003 or a rare Chevrolet Corvette C1 from 1962 with fuel injection.
Also rare are the Rolls-Royce Camargue and Corniche models, both of which are still awaiting discovery by collectors and corresponding increases in value.
The problem with the Lamborghini Espada is similar, even though prices have shown a clear upward trend in recent years.
If you've never heard of a Yummy Motors, there's no need to be ashamed. After all, the Super Seven-like roadster is a one-off.
Special colors
Anyone who likes old cars with a special color scheme will certainly enjoy the Porsche 911 Carrera RS (964) from 1992, but "Sternrubin" definitely suits the car.
Green Alfa Romeo Montreal are not exactly a dime a dozen, and neither are baby blue Ford Thunderbirds.
They are all a feast for the eyes.
Last consignments still possible
Beat Leu and Reinhard Schmidlin are still finalizing the auction offer from 17 June 2017, but the catalog will soon go to print. So if you still want to register, you should hurry. And if it doesn't work out for the Dolder auction, there will be another opportunity in Gstaad at the end of the year.
Further information on the Dolder auction is of course always available on the website of the Oldtimer Galerie Toffen.
