The O-iO is the biggest classic car party in Central Switzerland, with or without classic cars and a festival for the whole family; for young and old. At the O-iO on 18 and 19 May 2024, you can see practically everything that once rolled along our roads: cars (including a steam car), trucks, buses, post buses, tractors, motorcycles, scooters, mopeds, bicycles (penny-farthings). Many participants and spectators dress to match the vintage cars, making the journey back in time perfect.
As of April 21, 2024, 561 classic cars had already been registered, a good half of which will take part in both the Saturday and Sunday programs.
On Saturday, the classic cars will arrive in Sarnen (OW) from 10:00 and will then be lined up in the village. Corsos will take place from 11:00 and passenger rides from 13:45, where visitors without their own classic car can also experience what old cars feel like.
From 15:15, it's time for the Saturday drive, which is mostly on picturesque side roads and covers a distance of around 36 km.
On Saturday evening, there will once again be a festival atmosphere.
On Sunday morning, the cars will be lined up again in Sarnen, then the journey to Engelberg, where there will also be no shortage of attractions, starts at 10:00.
Incredible variety of brands
Anyone who consults the publicly accessible start list can only marvel at the many long-forgotten brands that are expected in Sarnen on May 18, 2024: Alvis, American La France, Tribelhorn, Lagonda, Singer, Salmson, Delahaye, Wolseley, Riley, Orchid, Studebaker, and many more!
And of course the more well-known classics from Alfa Romeo to Volkswagen are not missing.
In any case, the range of former bread-and-butter cars is particularly impressive. So a visit to Sarnen or Engelberg is definitely worthwhile.
For visitors without registration/old-timers, please note that the village centers will be partially closed during the event.
