To mark the "90 years of the Nürburgring" anniversary, the Nürburgring Classic will take place for the first time in 2017. In subsequent years, the Nürburgring Classic is set to become a fixture in the calendar of historic motorsport events at the Nürburgring.
The Nürburgring was opened on June 18, 1927, and exactly 90 years later, a race will be held on the same day to honor the history of the Nürburgring and motor racing in general. The main attraction will be the ADAC Eifelrennen, while many other races will captivate the audience. Many races and regularity runs will commemorate the long history of the Nürburgring.
Anyone who owns a classic car can take part and start in various heats and parts of the event without much effort. The aim of the new event is not to compete with existing classic car meetings on the Ring, but to promote a gathering of enthusiasts in a different format.
The Nürburgring Classic also follows in the footsteps of the Historic Trophy Nürburgring, which took place for the last time in June 2016. With experienced organizers, it should be an even greater success as a follow-up event than the Historic Trophy was previously. The FHR (Fahrgemeinschaft Historischer Sportwagen), the German Touring Car Classics, pre-war vehicles and the Youngtimertrophy will also be taking part.
In addition to racing, demonstration runs and regularity competitions, cars from the factory museums will be presented, impressively showcasing historic motorsport and racing cars from the past.
The date - June 16 to 18, 2017 - should be noted now.
