On August 27, classic car fans can once again look forward to more than 1200 vehicles throughout the old town of Celle, in front of Celle Castle and in the French Garden.
As in previous years, classic cars and motorcycles will be presented to the interested public on the last Sunday in August. Anyone who would also like to register their vehicle can do so now. Important requirement: The vehicle must be at least 25 years old.
In the meantime, "Oldtimer + Fachwerk" has become one of the largest classic car meetings in the north. Fans can marvel at Bullis, Hanomags, Cadillacs and more everywhere in the city center of Celle as well as in front of the castle and in the French Garden. Vehicles of all kinds are expected again, including two-wheeled rarities: Mopeds, scooters and motorcycles. The spectrum ranges from automobiles from the economic miracle era of the 1950s and 1960s to tractors, trucks and service vehicles from the fire department, the German Armed Forces, various ambulance services such as the German Red Cross and St. John's Ambulance, as well as private cars, some of which are over 100 years old. "Oldtimer + Fachwerk" will offer visitors all this and much more in 2023.
The event usually only takes place every two years. In order to return to the rhythm that was customary before the pandemic, "Oldtimer + Fachwerk" 2022 will be followed by another event this year. After that, everything will have settled down again, so classic car fans should definitely not miss out on the vehicle meeting before the upcoming break. "It's important for us to return to the usual schedule now and thus make it easier to plan," says Heinz-Dieter Oehl from IG Oldiefreunde Celle. This year, the city of Celle is supporting the classic car enthusiasts as the organizer.
Even if you don't own a classic car, you should make a note of this day in your diary. The combination of the historic half-timbered town and the extraordinary vehicles makes enthusiasts, friends and fans of motorized history want to come to Celle again and again. Admission is free.
All information can be found on the event website.
