The opening event of the Museo Automobili Lamborghini heralds an important year for the company from Sant'Agata Bolognese, as it marks the beginning of the celebrations for its sixtieth anniversary. The museum has changed its name and has been completely renovated and modernized, both in terms of its structure and its exhibits. The exhibition "The future began in 1963" aims to retrace the most emblematic and representative phases and moments that have marked the history of the first 60 years of Lamborghini.
The narrative excursion begins with the history of the development of the brand and its products from 1963 to the present day, starting with the figure of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini. The 19 vehicles* on display become the protagonists and tell of the brand values and the iconic nature of the technical and design heritage that characterize the company's DNA.
"2023 will be a year full of innovations, starting with this new concept. A year in which we will celebrate our first 60 years with international events, initiatives and unexpected activities that we will gradually unveil," said Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, at the official inauguration of the museum. "It all began with a challenge that Ferruccio Lamborghini consciously accepted in the early 1960s. In the years that followed, the company continued to develop with pioneering and revolutionary ideas. It made history by introducing innovations and changes that have characterized the development of luxury vehicles. Today, it is recognized as a brand that has never stopped and will never stop looking to the future."
The exhibition aims to emphasize the deliberately unconventional and revolutionary way in which all the new models were created. They were able to break the established rules of each era and set new standards time and time again. Every super sports car embodies at least one idea that initially seemed almost crazy, no matter how disruptive. Since then, it has set an evolutionary trend that has led to the constant improvement of almost every aspect of a car.
The area housing this exhibition at the Museo Automobili Lamborghini is an exceptionally historic place. It is part of the group of buildings where, in 1963, Ferruccio Lamborghini laid the foundations for a company that over the years has written an extraordinary story and become an authentic source of inspiration for future generations.
