The latest issue of SwissClassics Revue, number 46-6/2014, recently arrived on newsstand shelves and in subscribers' letterboxes. A Jensen C-V8 is emblazoned on the cover, which is the cover story of the magazine this time.
Jensen C-V8: by Peter Monteverdi
In addition to importing Ferrari, Peter Monteverdi, who is primarily known for his own sports cars, also included Jensen sports cars in his sales program. This had visible consequences for his later Monteverdi sports cars. The entire Monteverdi story can be read on eight pages full of photos and interesting details in SCR 6 2014.
Belsize 14/30 HP: Love and enthusiasm instead of speculation
Hardly anyone knows the Belsize brand today. But in the decades following the turn of the century before last, it was one of the progressive manufacturers positioned in the upper segment.
The magazine presents a 1925 Belsize 14/30 and shows that Belsize automobiles are much more suitable as a source of driving pleasure than as objects of speculation.
Buyer's guide: Mercedes-Benz W124
The Mercedes-Benz W124 is not really a classic car yet, with only the earliest examples passing the 30-year mark these days. But anyone who would like to own a good example should start looking soon, because the prices for well-maintained coupés and convertibles in particular are already on the rise. The buying guide in this magazine will help you buy a W124 and prevent mistakes.
Haflinger 706: Turn four into six
Haflinger all-terrain vehicles were used by the Swiss army in the 1960s to 1980s and easily traversed the most impassable mountainous terrain with two driven axles.
But this was not enough for one Swiss enthusiast; he turned an ordinary Haflinger into an example with three driven axles. The SwissClassics Revue tells the entire story of the conversion to a "mountain horse with six hooves" - a very interesting story.
Lots of other exciting content
This issue was not short on content either. In addition to the Jensen, Belsize and the Haflinger, an SS Jaguar and the Alfa Giulia Giardinetta are also presented. The technology section shows how to start a car correctly and accident-free with a crank, just as it used to be done.
Every year we struggle more or less to find the perfect Christmas present for our loved ones. If the recipient is a classic car fan, the SwissClassics Revue can help; the magazine suggests 18 great Christmas gifts, such as various voucher ideas, care sets or the right clothing for the convertible...
