Time also flies at Auto Bild klassik, because it's barely March and the April issue is already on newsstands. It presents its selection of the coolest cars of the 80s, shows where Opel and Ford are at home and compares the most beautiful vans of the 50s, because not everything was a Bulli, even if that was the impression at the time.
The coolest cars of the 80s
On around 32 pages, Auto Bild klassik presents five cars that only "special" people drove. Be it a Mercedes 300 CE, a Volvo 480 or a Porsche 928 Clubsport, they are all typical of the 80s with their old hits, outlandish fashion or cult films.
Van legends from the 50s
During the economic miracle in Germany, there was not only the incredibly successful VW T1, known as the Bulli, but manufacturers such as Fiat, DKW and Lloyd also had their very own ideas of what a large van could look like. Auto Bild klassik presents four vans from the 50s.
Where Opel and Ford are at home
In a North Rhine-Westphalia special, Auto Bild klassik travels from the old Opel plant in Bochum to the Ford factory in Cologne. In an Opel GT and a Ford Capri, of course.
The truth about fuel consumption
In the middle of the magazine, Auto Bild klassik has placed a report on the subject of fuel consumption. Various models were driven and tested, and the differences were considerable. There is also a nice overview with fuel consumption values from the economical VW Golf D with 3.9 liters to the Oldsmobile 98 Convertible with no less than 23.5 liters per 100 km.
