The project is called "The Valley" and represents the new Motorworld Manufaktur in the Zurich region. Behind it are Mettler2Invest AG and the Motorworld Group, who have acquired significant parts of the listed Givaudan site in Kemptthal, between Zurich and Winterthur.
Former Maggi factory
On the former Maggi site sold by Givaudan Schweiz AG, the forward-looking work and meeting place "The Valley" is being created under the leadership of the new owners, with a diverse mix of tenants and a wide range of services.
Innovative and creative place to work and meet
In addition to the innovation center for the research and development of fragrances and flavors of Givaudan Schweiz AG, which is currently under construction, the conversion of a listed brick building into a business center has also begun. This center will be converted and extended by MA Kemptthal Besitz AG and then operated by Givaudan for its needs.
MA Kemptthal Besitz AG intends to extensively renovate the historic industrial site with around 50,000 square meters of floor space that is no longer required by Givaudan and construct additional new buildings that will blend in architecturally with the existing historic buildings and comprise around 100,000 square meters of floor space. The development planning is well advanced and is being carried out in close cooperation with the relevant authorities of the municipality of Lindau and the canton of Zurich. In addition to the urban planning aspects, particular attention is also being paid to the creation of open spaces and meeting zones. Experts in spatial, urban, traffic and open space planning were consulted for this purpose. "The Valley" will be presented to the media and the public in late summer.
Revitalizing a milestone in industrial architecture
Mikula Gehrig from Mettler2Invest, explains: "We are very happy about the opportunity to revitalize this fantastic location with its unique industrial architecture. With our extensive experience, we will be able to dynamically drive forward the conversion while preserving the charm of the historical witnesses. The aim is not only to develop an innovative and creative place to work and meet - ideally located between the cities of Zurich and Winterthur in terms of transport links - "The Valley" should also remain lively in the evenings and at weekends, thanks to restaurants, bars and various indoor and outdoor event spaces. We want to attract tenants from a wide variety of sectors and a broad range of services. A large number of businesses from various sectors have already set up shop on the site and the area will soon be open to the public."
Space for mobile passion
A special centerpiece in "The Valley" will be the new Motorworld Manufaktur Region Zürich. Andreas Dünkel, founder and Chairman of the Motorworld Group, is delighted: "The concept of our classic and premium vehicle center follows the motto "Space for mobile passion" and includes workshops, dealerships, glass storage boxes and service providers for all aspects of cultivated automobility. Attractive areas for events and conferences, a design hotel and a variety of catering outlets are also included. The former Maggi site in Kemptthal is perfect for our Motorworld concept: Historic industrial buildings, coupled with perfect transport links and high market potential, as Switzerland has the highest density of classic cars in the world."
