Books that literally move and make the fascination of automobiles and mobility accessible in a unique way - on Tuesday, April 23, the Motorworld Book Prize was awarded to the works that came out on top among the 75 or so submissions. The winners were chosen by a top-class jury headed by Jürgen Lewandowski, who awarded the book prize to 21 new publications in the categories "Brand", "History", "Biography", "Motorsport" and "Design" as well as several special prizes.
The fact that, despite the wide variety of themes, a particularly large number of works were submitted on the subject of Porsche should be obvious, at least for Porsche fans - after all, the cult brand celebrated "75 years of Porsche sports cars" and "60 years of the Porsche 911" last year. So it's no wonder that the winners also include books that provide a very special look at Porsche - such as "Porsche Racing Moments" by legendary motorsport photographer Rainer Schlegelmilch or background information on the iconic 911. And 125 years of Opel car history, unusual drawings of concept cars or unique insights into the history of the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer models are also among the award-winning book jewels. In addition to all the "cool bodies", people also play a major role in the works - for example in the illustrated book "Faces of Formula 1", in which the heroes of Formula 1 from the 1960s are shown in impressive photographs.
How exciting the history of Lancia sports cars is and how much artwork there is in Art Deco companions also proved to be worthy of an award for the jury. And also that technology fans will get their money's worth in the documentary about technology pioneer Karl Maybach, that stories from the everyday life of racing mechanics in the book "Schlaflos im Renntransporter" are highly entertaining and that fans of the 1970s can look forward to perfectly annotated photos by Franco Lini. The Italians", a beautifully designed book on the aesthetics of Italian automotive design, was also particularly impressive.

The Motorworld Book Prize
The Motorworld Book Prize honors outstanding literary works dedicated to the topics of automobiles and mobility. The motoring journalist, automotive historian and author Jürgen Lewandowski established the Motorworld Book Prize around 20 years ago. The Motorworld Group has been involved as organizer for seven years.
This year's award was supported by HYMER GmbH & Co KG and the AvD - Automobilclub von Deutschland.
The jury for the Motorworld Book Prize 2024 consisted of Jürgen Lewandowksi (Jury Chair), Sarah Dünkel (Future Leader Motorworld Group), Lutz Leif Linden (Secretary General of Automobilclub von Deutschland e.V. and Managing Director of AvD Wirtschaftsdienst GmbH), Michael Stoschek (Chairman of the Brose Fahrzeugteile SE & Co. KG Shareholders' Meeting) and Christian Bauer (Chairman of the HYMER GmbH & Co. KG Management Board).
