Mercedes-Benz Classic can celebrate several vehicle anniversaries and anniversaries of motorsport successes and company events in 2024
The prominent themes for 2024 are:
- February 1954 (70 years): Mercedes-Benz 190 SL (W 121) and 300 SL "Gullwing" (W 198) make their debut at the International Motor Sports Show in New-York.
- March 1934 (90 years): Premiere of the Mercedes-Benz 500 K (W 29) with eight-cylinder supercharged engine at the International Motor Show in Berlin.
- March 1999 (25 years): Debut of the Mercedes-Benz CL-Class (C 215) at the Geneva Motor Show. It is the first series-produced passenger car with Active Body Control (ABC).
- April 1894 (130 years): Benz presents the motorized velocipede ("Velo"). It is the world's first series-produced automobile. By 1901, 1,200 units have been produced.
- April 1924 (100 years): Christian Werner wins the Targa Florio and the Coppa Florio with the Mercedes 2-liter racing car.
- May 1984 (40 years): 20 Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.3-16 (W 201) open the new Grand Prix circuit at the Nürburgring with a race. Ayrton Senna wins.
- June 1934 (90 years): The Silver Arrow era begins with the premiere and victory of the Mercedes-Benz W 25 racing car in the International Eifel Race at the Nürburgring.
- July 1954 (70 years): First start of the Mercedes-Benz W 196 R Formula 1 Silver Arrows and one-two victory in Reims (Juan Manuel Fangio/Karl Kling) at the French Grand Prix.
- July 1894 (130 years): The Paris-Rouen race is the world's first automobile competition. Vehicles with Daimler-licensed engines win the top prize.
- November 1984 (40 years): The Mercedes-Benz 124 model series is presented to the international press in Seville. From 1993 it is called the E-Class.
- December 1924 (100 years): Premiere of the Mercedes 15/70/100 hp and 24/100/140 hp as supercharged models in the international luxury class.
