Bruce McLaren founded his racing team in 1963, and just three years later the cars were racing in Formula 1. And in 1968, the first Grand Prix was won. Since then, McLaren has won no fewer than 182 Grand Prix races and a whole host of sports car races to boot. A total of 20 world championships have been won.
16 cars, including the LeMans cars that were built together with BMW, but also many Formula 1 cars and sports cars, from McLaren's company history are now on display in a special exhibition at the Louwman Museum in The Hague.
The exhibition was opened by Amanda McLaren, the daughter of Bruce McLaren.
The comprehensive exhibition was put together thanks to a collaboration with McLaren Automotive Ltd, the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, the BMW Museum in Munich and with the help of private collectors.
Further information on the exhibition can be found on the Louwman Museum website.
