The Pantheon Museum remains true to Racing Green and is continuing its recently concluded special exhibition, “British Sportstars,” with models from “MG,” which will be on display through April 18, 2027. The legendary brand, founded in England in 1924 as Morris Garage (MG) by Sir William Morris (1877–1963), became known and famous primarily for its motorsports successes through the 1950s.
Following its integration into British Leyland and the MG Rover Group, production ceased in 2005. A year later, the Chinese manufacturer SAIC acquired the brand and continues to operate it to this day. Since 2024, there has even been a new electric MG Roadster called the Cyberster, a portmanteau of “cyber” and “roadster.” It is considered the brand’s flagship model and is also on display at the Pantheon. The Pantheon in Basel Muttenz is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
