Ernst Prost sells his group of companies to the multi-billion Würth Group, giving Liqui Moly a new owner. At the turn of the year, Managing Partner Ernst Prost sells his shares in the company to the Würth Group. "This will ensure the continued existence of Liqui Moly and Méguin for a time when I am no longer at the helm," says Ernst Prost. He will remain Managing Director of the group of companies.
Liqui Moly is in excellent health: a high equity ratio and another new sales record this year. "I wanted to take my time to make provisions for when we are doing well and don't have to make decisions under adverse conditions," said Ernst Prost.
There is a long-standing relationship with the Würth Group. The Würth Group has been a silent partner in Liqui Moly for almost 20 years - even then a hedge against imponderables. Although the Würth Group, with over 70,000 employees and sales of EUR 12.5 billion, is much larger than Liqui Moly, it is also a family business. Ernst Prost: "That's why I know that Liqui Moly and Méguin are in good hands with the Würth Group."
Apart from the change of ownership in the background, nothing will change. Liqui Moly will remain an independent company within the Würth Group, Ernst Prost will remain Managing Director and nothing will change for the employees either. "Anyone who knows me knows that my focus is on the co-entrepreneurs," says Ernst Prost. "It would also make no sense to change the successful course of recent years. We will continue as before - just under a larger umbrella that offers more protection."
Liqui Moly has also become internationally known, not least because of its appearances in motor racing. Over the years, many cars have carried Liqui Moly stickers and the company's original colors have also become internationally known.
