The Klausen Race Revival is to take place from September 24 to 26, 2027 and not in 2026 as previously planned. This decision was made to ensure the best conditions for a successful and reliable event. The organizational preparations have been completed, but have taken longer than planned.
The Klausenrennen association was founded as the organizing body in Glarus and the organizing committee is starting the implementation work.
Reliable delivery as the primary goal
The primary goal of the two initiators Christian Walti and Alexander Roosdorp is to organize the Klausen Race Revival as a reliable and high-quality event. To ensure this goal is achieved, the initiators have decided to postpone the event by one year in close consultation with the organizing committee.
Christian Walti added: "We only have one attempt, the first event must meet expectations, otherwise there is no future for the Klausenrennen. That is why we have decided to postpone the date by one year".
The time gained ensures that the event can be implemented on a solid basis in terms of organization, finances and personnel.

Work continues as planned
The Klausenrennen association has submitted a new application to the cantonal councils of the cantons of Glarus and Uri for a basic permit for the new planned date of the event.
All other work, such as drawing up the detailed plans, the invitation to tender for participants and the recruitment of additional sponsoring partners and patrons, is continuing unabated.
Great interest from home and abroad
The enthusiastic response from the classic car scene has been particularly pleasing. Numerous drivers from Switzerland and abroad have already expressed their firm intention to take part in the Klausen Race Revival. Some of them also want to support the event with a patronage contribution. A patrons' club was recently set up by the Klausenrennen association. New members are very welcome.
Organization is defined
The Klausenrennen Association is responsible for organizing the Klausenrennen Revival and has formed an Organizing Committee (OC) for this purpose. The association was founded on June 20, 2025 and is registered in the Glarus commercial register. The president of the association is Christian Walti. Alexander Roosdorp (OC President, sub-project management of the race organization, partnerships and marketing departments), Luca Tinner and Martin Huber from gl-events GmbH (sub-project management of the construction, infrastructure, safety, traffic and operations departments) assume the central functions in the OC.
