Emil Frey Classics AG is serving as the main partner for the Klausenrennen Revival 2027. In doing so, the company is underscoring its connection to one of Switzerland’s most significant historic motorsports events.
A living piece of technological history from the pioneering era of mobility
The Klausenrennen Revival will take place from September 24 to 26, 2027, on the Klausen Pass along the historic route from Linthal (Canton of Glarus) to the Klausen Pass summit (Canton of Uri). The event builds on the legendary Klausen Races of 1922 through 1934 and brings to life a unique chapter in the history of mobility and technology.
The focus is on pre-war vehicles. Selected historic vehicles from more recent years round out the field of participants. Approximately 250 cars and 150 motorcycles are expected, with drivers from all over Europe. As a living cultural treasure, the Klausen Race Revival combines tradition, engineering, and passion, and delights young and old alike with its unique atmosphere.
Historic ties and shared values as the foundation of the partnership
The Emil Frey Group looks back on a proud corporate history. It began in 1924 as an auto repair shop and expanded in 1926 with the opening of a motorcycle dealership. Company founder Emil Frey had close ties to the Klausen Race: As early as 1924, he was a member of the organizing committee and participated several times as a motorcycle racer. In 1927, he won in his class. This historic connection, together with shared values and clear business considerations, forms the foundation of today’s partnership. This includes, among other things, a comprehensive presence at the event as well as integration into the Klausen Race Revival’s communication platforms.
Lorenz Frey-Hilti, a member of the executive board, comments: “The Klausenrennen Revival embodies living automotive and motorcycle history, technical fascination, and emotional encounters across generations. These are precisely the values that also define Emil Frey Classics. Those who are passionate about what they do, truly master their craft, and are uncompromising in their commitment to quality create real added value—and earn trust. My grandfather Emil won the Klausenrennen in his class in 1927. We are proud to support the Klausenrennen Revival exactly 100 years later with Emil Frey Classics AG as our main partner.”
Christian Walti, President of the Klausen Race Association, adds: “With Emil Frey Classics AG, we’ve gained a partner who shares our values and credibly carries on the history of the Klausen Race. Together, we want to bring this special cultural heritage to life for future generations.”
Attractive for Companies and Individuals
The Klausenrennen Revival is a major public event with significant national and international appeal. In addition to participant fees and ticket sales, partnerships and donor contributions play a key role in financing the event. Companies and individuals can get involved in the event in specific ways—through various sponsorship categories or as members of the Klausenrennen 1922 Patrons’ Club. The Klausenrennen Association is happy to provide interested parties with personalized advice and further information.
