With the new Frankfurt Stereo MB, Blaupunkt is launching another model from its successful retro radio line for vintage and classic cars. The car radio, which is visually based on the Blaupunkt axle-mounted radios of the 1970s, will be available from January 2026 and combines authentic design with modern reception and audio technology. With its classic dimensions, the rotary and push buttons typical of the time and the striking pinstripe front in a metal chrome frame, the Frankfurt Stereo MB blends seamlessly into historic dashboards and remains true to the appearance of this era.
Behind the retro façade is modern technology: The Blaupunkt FM and DAB+ high-end tuner supports seamless blending and thus ensures excellent reception and high sound quality with seamless switching between DAB+ and FM.
The 3-inch color display shows operating and information displays either digitally or in a retro-typical analog display with frequency scale and is conveniently controlled via the rotary knob.
Versatile connectivity and ease of use
In addition to classic radio reception, the Frankfurt Stereo MB offers modern mobile device connectivity. The integrated Bluetooth interface enables audio streaming and hands-free calling, including access to the smartphone's phone book and the use of voice assistants such as Siri or Google. Thanks to Twin Connect, two devices can be paired in parallel - ideal if the driver and front passenger want to use their media sources flexibly. Mobile devices can be charged via the USB port, while the AUX input and support for common audio formats such as MP3, FLAC, WAV, AAC, WMA and APE make the radio a versatile media player.
The permanent memory function, the option to deactivate ignition plus detection, the connection for analog steering wheel remote controls and the option to use an IR remote control provide even more convenience.
Sound precision in a classic radio design
The retro car radio is also at the cutting edge in terms of sound. For precise sound tuning, the Frankfurt Stereo MB has a dual 14-band equalizer that enables detailed adjustment of treble, mid-range and bass. This is complemented by dynamic loudness management, which ensures a balanced sound, especially at low volumes. Various sound presets as well as a 4-channel preamp output and a sub-out expand the audiophile design options. The output power is 4 × 50 watts, increasing to 4 × 75 watts with 2-ohm speakers.
With its short installation depth, the device is suitable for different installation conditions and can be installed both on axle units and in 1-DIN installation bays. The required mounting material is included in the scope of delivery.
