Classic car enthusiasts are already looking forward to the start of the next season in spring 2024, when the open-brand "Classics & Coffee" event, which the Mercedes-Benz Museum is also hosting in 2024, will once again be a popular destination. Several hundred vehicles will roll onto the museum hill on these days. See and be seen, talk to each other about the vehicles and the hobby, plus a coffee or another drink: This relaxed mix has made the open-air event a success for years. Many vehicles at "Classics & Coffee" carry a history license plate. This year, for the first time, several Mercedes-Benz vehicle types that were launched in 1994 can be registered.
The extensive supply of original spare parts from Mercedes-Benz Classic makes a significant contribution to ensuring that these classics and many other vehicles from the brand's entire history can be operated in optimum technical condition. The focus here is particularly on driving and safety-related spare parts. In 2024, important models from the 124, 140 and 202 series can be registered with a history license plate for the first time. Several thousand spare parts are available for each of these model series directly from the manufacturer.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class of the 140 model series - saloons and coupés
The early S-Class saloons have already enjoyed classic status for several years. From next year, the first model-maintained S-Class vehicles will also be able to receive the H license plate:
They are presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1994. Changes to the details convey a visually lighter, well-proportioned and more dynamic appearance. Also 30 years ago in Geneva, the S 420 is presented as the new entry-level model in the brand's luxury coupé range.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class 124 model series - saloons and cabriolets
The Mercedes-Benz 124 model series is a popular classic with high everyday qualities. The model variety is large with a saloon, estate, coupé and cabriolet. Next year, further models will achieve classic status.
Two automotive delicacies with an eight-cylinder engine are the E 60 AMG (280 kW/381 hp) and the E 500 Limited (235 kW/320 hp), which is limited to just 500 vehicles.
The E 200 Cabriolet is also a collector's car right from the start. It was added to the domestic sales program in March 1994, while the open-top four-seater had already been in production for export since July 1993.
Mercedes-Benz C-Class of the 202 model series - C 36 AMG
Series production of the C 36 AMG begins in January 1994, with the brand unveiling the top-of-the-range model of the model series a few months earlier at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main.
A powerful six-cylinder engine with 206 kW (280 hp) in the compact saloon: this combination makes the vehicle a success: 5221 units are produced by 1997.
