The 28th edition of InterClassics Oldtimermesse Maastricht, which was scheduled to take place from September 8 to 11, 2022 at MECC Maastricht, has been canceled. In consultation with sponsors, partners and exhibitors, the organization has decided to cancel the September fair. The 28th edition of InterClassics Maastricht, which is traditionally the first event of the season, was originally scheduled for January 2022. However, due to COVID-19, the trade fair was postponed and was to take place in a different form in September 2022.
The postponement and the alternative date threatened to have a negative impact on the quality of the event in September. The summer months are a busy time for exhibitors and visitors alike. The 'Dutch Grand Prix Classics' theme would also have been adversely affected by holding the event in September. So another postponement was unavoidable.
Back in January
The organizers are now pleased to confirm that significantly more historic Formula 1 vehicles can be exhibited in January 2023 than in September, as most of these racing cars are in use on the racetracks in the summer. The next edition will therefore take place from January 12 to 15, 2023 at the MECC Maastricht and will once again mark the start of the classic car year.
Erik Panis, Exhibition Director of InterClassics: "We would have liked nothing more than for the Classic Car Show Maastricht to take place in September as planned. But InterClassics has stood for high-quality, distinctive events since 1994. We looked at the various scenarios for the September edition and came to the conclusion that we would not be able to offer the quality that our sponsors, partners, exhibitors and visitors have come to expect from us. This was the reason for the decision to cancel the September show. We look forward to organizing a great, high-quality event in January 2023, as people have come to expect from us."
The 28th edition of the InterClassics Classic Car Show Maastricht will take place from Thursday, January 12 to Sunday, January 15, 2023 at MECC Maastricht. The classic car show traditionally attracts many buyers and enthusiasts. With 35,000 m2 of exhibition space, 300 exhibitors and more than 800 classic cars on display, the InterClassics Classic Car Show Maastricht is one of the largest classic car fairs in Europe.
