"Indianapolis in Oerlikon" will take place for the 15th time on July 25, 2017. With a wide-ranging starting field, the Oerlikon Open Racecourse will once again provide a real spectacle.
Every year, two traditional events at the Open Racecourse attract particularly large crowds, one of which is the so-called "Indianapolis Oerlikon". This is when historic racing cars with two, three or four wheels start on the time-honored track. In the event of bad weather, the 2017 presentation will be postponed from Tuesday, July 25 to Thursday, July 27.
Last year, just under three dozen racing cars, around two dozen motorcycles and a Morgan Three Wheeler took part in the demonstration drives, and some rarities are also expected this year. However, the real protagonists of the "Indianapolis Oerlikon" event are still the bicycles, which race between the car and motorcycle demo laps.
