"Indianapolis in Oerlikon" will take place for the 16th time on July 24, 2018. With a wide-ranging starting field, the Oerlikon open racecourse will once again provide a real spectacle.
Every year, two traditional events at the Open Racecourse attract particularly large crowds, one of which is the so-called "Indianapolis Oerlikon". This is when historic racing cars with two, three or four wheels take to the track. In the event of bad weather, the 2018 presentation will be postponed from Tuesday, July 24 to Thursday, July 26. This year, the event is being held under the patronage of "Kulturerbe2018" for the first time.
On July 24, 2018, in addition to many racing cars and motorcycles, two Formula 2 cars with ex-F1 racing driver Marc Surer and mountain racing king Fredy Amweg at the wheel will make the concrete oval tremble. However, the real protagonists of the "Indianapolis Oerlikon" event will of course still be the bicycles and their pedaling sports stars, who will complete their races between the car and motorcycle demo laps.
Further information about the event can be found on the Velorennbahn website.
