One of the world's most attractive motorsport events for historic open-wheel racing vehicles is casting its shadow far ahead. For the 22nd time, motorcycle and car enthusiasts around the brothers Georges Kaufmann (overall manager) and brother Jo, together with race director Karl Marty and officials from the racecourse, are organizing this unique, already fully booked racing event in the heart of the city of Zurich. Participation is based on a personal invitation.
Around 60 racing sports cars, some of which are steeped in history, and 30 motorcycles are expected. These will do deafening laps on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., driving the banked turns in groups in front of an immense crowd of spectators (2024: 7,000 people).
With racing celebrities
For the first time, an internationally renowned racing driver will lend a face to the lovingly organized event. Arturo Merzario, sports car world champion, ex-Abarth and Ferrari works driver, two-time overall winner of the Targa Florio, overall winner of the European Hill Climb Championship, 56 Formula 1 starts between 1972 and 1979 and Niki Lauda's lifesaver at the Nürburgring in 1976.
Visitors are advised to arrive in good time due to the often difficult traffic conditions around Zurich. In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed to July 24, 2025 (Thursday).
