Various rarities came under the hammer
On September 21, 2019, Classic Car Auctions by Julius Hügler 1875, the new Austrian auction house for rare automobiles and motorcycles, held its second auction as part of Classic Austria.
Classic Austria provided a brilliant backdrop for the event, with thousands of automobile enthusiasts and collectors of classic cars flocking to the Messe Wels exhibition grounds in perfect weather. There was also an excellent retro atmosphere with the swinging Glenn Miller sound of the RAT Big Band and lots of vintage petticoats.
Rare Aston Martin Lagonda
An exquisite selection of classic vehicles from several eras and in every price category awaited visitors, including dream cars from Alfa Romeo, Bentley, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce and Porsche, as well as hot motorcycles from NSU to AJS. Special highlights were a rare Aston Martin Lagonda from 1983 and a British Triumph Tiger 100 from 1957.
A total of 82 cars and motorcycles came under the hammer at the auction, which was conducted by Classic Car Auctions initiator Franziskus Kriegs-Au together with entertainer Mat Schuh. Among the items auctioned at top prices were a Chevrolet Corvette C2 Stingray, a Mercedes-Benz 250 SL Pagoda and various other cars and motorcycles, as well as the painting "Lotus Come Me" by the young world-class artist and Nitsch student, Philip Mueller.
Of auctions and jewelry art
Franziskus Kriegs-Au is not only a proven car connoisseur and enthusiast, but also a former master appraiser at the Vienna Dorotheum and a major German auction house, as well as the fifth generation of the prominent representative of the international jewelry legend "Julius Hügler". In addition to his involvement with Classic Car Auctions, he has just opened his new store at the venerable Vienna city center address Habsburgergasse 9, continuing the tradition of fine jewelry established in 1875.
Franziskus Kriegs-Au on the result of the auction: "Of course I am delighted with the wonderful result - we were able to knock down 32 lots worth almost half a million euros, including a magnificent Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Cabriolet from 1959. But my personal thanks go in particular to those responsible at Messe Wels for their energetic organization and support."
