There are only a few days left until the Whitsun weekend. If you missed out on making big travel plans but would now like to give your classic a run, perhaps a spontaneous trip to Zweisimmen would be a good idea?
Daniel Müller, whose father Herbert Müller (Stumpen Herbie, one of the most famous Swiss racing drivers of all time) would be celebrating his 75th birthday right around this time if he hadn't died in a racing car 34 years ago on May 24, 2015, is motivating people to enjoy a Whitsun drive for the third time! And the weather should be very inviting.
Arrive individually, e.g. via the Col des Mosses, Col de la Croix and Col de Pillon passes, and then enjoy the famous Älpler Brunch (CHF 32.00 per person, children up to 12 years half price, please make a reservation, alternatively you can also eat à la carte in the lakeside restaurant) in the Forellensee Zweisimmen lake bar.
At Whitsun, Forellensee Zweisimmen is showing motorsport films and documents from the legendary 1960s and 1970s in honor of racing driver Herbert Müller and his 34th Memorial Day [24.5.1981]. The film sequences revolve around "Stumpen-Herbie's" team principals of the time, e.g. the Scuderia Filipinetti around Georges Filipinetti and the legendary Gulf Racing Team around the charismatic John Wyer.
Racing sequences from LeMans, Spa, Nürburgring, Brands-Hatch, Monza, Targa Florio with Ferrari, Porsche and international racing legends such as Jo Siffert, Henry Pescarolo, Jackie Stewart, Pedro Rodriguez, Jacky Ickx and many more will be shown.
Classic car crews can also take part in the "Alpine Summer Games" competition and win an annual subscription to Zwischengas or another great prize.
The area around the Forellensee attracts visitors with many traffic-free passes for further excursions and there is also plenty to do at the Forellensee, from sport fishing to spending the night in the Podhouse.
Further information can be found on the Forellensee website, in the event brochure or directly on +41 33 722 29 69.
