The Emil Frey Classics Drive continues from September 20 to 24, 2023, with a multi-day drive past impressive rivers and deep gorges along some of the most beautiful routes France has to offer.
The highlight: no hotel change, no suitcase packing! Once they arrive at their destination, participants only pack their bags again when it's time to go home. After an eventful day, they always return to the Hotel La Coquillade in Gargas in the evening. This stylish pleasure trip starts in an exclusive setting - with a maximum of 25 vehicles.
Varied program
Stage 1, Wednesday, September 20, 2023 - In the footsteps of Napoleon
The official start and the official program begin at the beautiful Château de Candie in Chambéry. The château offers a breathtaking view of the Chartreuse mountain range. In the heart of a six-hectare park with centuries-old trees and fountains, participants are warmly welcomed to the drivers' briefing. A room can be reserved for arrival the day before (Tuesday, September 19, 2023) (not included in the package).
After a scenic drive along part of the Route Napoléon with fantastic views, you will meet for lunch at the gourmet restaurant of the Hôtel de la Poste in Corps, where you can enjoy refined and inspired cuisine on the elegant terrace.
We then continue to Gargas to our hotel La Coquillade. In addition to a breathtaking view, you can enjoy the romantic rooms, a 1500-square-metre spa and a gourmet restaurant. Wines from the Aureto vineyard are served as an aperitif by the pool. This is followed by dinner with a fantastic view of the surrounding vineyards.
Stage 2, Thursday, September 21, 2023 - in the direction of the sea
After breakfast, we set off on a discovery tour through the mystical Camargue in the early summer morning. The journey takes us in the direction of Cavaillon, home of the Cavaillon melon. A little later, we reach Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône to enjoy lunch at La Plage restaurant. Seafood lovers will get their money's worth here.
The rest of the stage leads back to the hotel in Gargas early enough to allow time to relax and explore the area by bike. The evening ends with culinary delights in the hotel's own restaurant. All the senses are awakened during this enjoyable experience.
Stage 3, Friday, September 22, 2023 - The royal stage to Mont Ventoux
Start to the almost 2000 meter high Mont Ventoux, the classic of the Tour de France. The dominant "Mountain of the Winds" is home to over a thousand plant species and a hundred bird species. To protect the unique natural landscape, Mont Ventoux was declared a biosphere reserve by Unesco in 1994.
Lunch is taken at the Domaine de Cabasse restaurant in Séguret, and a wine tasting is also planned. This eventful day also ends in the hotel's own restaurant.
Stage 4, Saturday, September 23, 2023 - Verdon Gorge, the Grand Canyon of France
After a hearty breakfast, the journey continues to Verdon, where we will visit the Verdon Gorge, also known as the Grand Canyon of France. It will offer us unforgettable views and insights. Winding mountain roads run along both sides of the Verdon Gorge - perfect for classic cars.
For your lunch break, "La Table" is the place to be for gourmets. The cuisine is fresh and tasty. The sommelier selects award-winning wines to go with the food. After a leisurely drive back, the participants meet at the hotel's own restaurant Les Vignes with its beautiful garden for a farewell dinner as the sun slowly sets. The aim is to discover the flavors of Provence while enjoying the breathtaking view of the vineyards. This year's Emil Frey Classics Drive comes to an end at this romantic location before the individual journey home or onwards on September 24.
