The Essen Motor Show is not a classic car fair in the traditional sense. But every year, classic cars are also well represented.
Legendary DTM winning cars
Motorsport fans have a reason to look forward to the upcoming Essen Motor Show: Germany's most popular annual motor show is dedicating a special show to the most popular international touring car series, the DTM.
Founded in 1984, the racing series entered its 30th year in 2013. As a prelude to the anniversary, the special exhibition showcases legendary winning cars from the last three decades.
On display are racing cars from Audi, BMW, Ford, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz and Opel, including, for example, the BMW 635 CSi in which Volker Stryczek won the premiere of the DTM in 1984, or the Rover Vitesse in which Kurt Thim drove to victory.
100 years of Maserati
The Essen Motor Show is looking ahead to the upcoming anniversary of the Italian cult brand Maserati: "100 Years of Maserati - La Tradizione Italiana Sportiva 1914 - 2014" is a tribute to the family-owned company, which has become famous above all for its racing cars.
Legendary monoposti and sports cars from the brand's history will be on display.
In addition, 50 years of Lamborghini will be celebrated.
For fans of special American beautification activities, there will be a special exhibition of hot rods.
The Essen Motor Show is open from November 30 to December 8, 2013, and admission costs around Euro 15.
