Since its opening in October 2014, the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center at Arnulfstrasse 61 has been the first address for Mercedes-Benz classics in Munich. Now the Classic Center presents a permanent selection of over 25 top restored or very well-preserved Mercedes-Benz classic and modern classics in an area that has quadrupled in size.
"Due to the great success since the opening, we have decided to significantly expand the Classic Center in order to be able to offer interested parties an even larger selection of top vehicles. Here, buyers can find everything from youngtimers for less than 10,000 euros to rare classic cars for almost two million euros," says Ulrich Kowalewski, Head of the Mercedes-Benz Munich branch.
Real rarities were brought to Munich from the Group's own collection especially for the expansion - including the Benz Patent Motor Car from 1886 and the legendary C 111 prototype.
Racing history through the "SternLegenden" exhibition
Another highlight - in addition to the vehicles - is the first art exhibition at the Classic Center. The racing history of Mercedes-Benz is excitingly illustrated and staged on 27 works of art using a special abstract pop technique. With his PopArts, artist Bernd Luz not only shows art, but also a cross-section of the history of Mercedes-Benz, from its first origins to the present day.
Classic Service Center Gauting
For almost 30 years, the Classic Service Center in Gauting - part of the Mercedes-Benz Munich branch - has been repairing and servicing young and old Mercedes-Benz cars. A specially trained service team permanently looks after its customers' classic cars in a workshop set up exclusively for this type of vehicle. International customers are also looked after in Gauting. In addition to the normal maintenance and repair work, saddlery work, engine and unit repairs as well as the procurement and sale of original spare parts are also carried out on the vehicles. Another feature is the professional storage of vehicles over the winter period.
Engine, power, passion - the automotive Sunday get-together in Munich
Discuss classic and sports cars in a relaxed atmosphere, chat about the finer points of automotive culture over a cup of coffee - and of course marvel at the classic cars, modern classics and sports cars in attendance: all this is offered by the Mercedes-Benz Munich event series "Motor, Power, Passion - the automotive Sunday get-together". The square in front of the branch is the "hub" for cars with and without a star.
"The automotive diversity - especially in Munich - prompted us to launch this series of events last year. The response has been overwhelming with over 150 vehicles of all makes in good weather," says Ulrich Kowalewski. The last date in 2017 is Sunday, October 8th.
