Anyone entering the Enter Technikwelt quickly realizes that this is about much more than classic exhibitions. It is a place where the history of technology comes to life, legendary vehicles from past decades are impressively staged and experiences are created that will live long in the memory.
Switzerland's largest interactive museum for analog and digital technology unfolds on over 10,000 m² in Derendingen. With more than 30,000 objects, from early radios to historical computers and communication systems to new technologies, the exhibition spans the arc from the past to the future.
In over ten themed worlds, historical technology and book printing are not only on display, but can also be experienced through interactive elements and hands-on stations.
Time travel through the history of technology
The "Journey through time" section of the exhibition takes visitors chronologically through various eras of technological development. In around 20 epoch rooms, visitors can see how technical devices have developed over the decades, from mechanical typewriters and early televisions to the first home computers and modern applications.
The area dedicated to vehicle technology is a particular crowd-puller. "Fascination Vehicles" primarily presents vehicles from film and television, including the Batmobile "The Tumbler", K.I.T.T. from the series "Knight Rider" or a DeLorean DMC-12 from "Back to the Future" converted for time travel. The collection is complemented by individual classic cars that round off the historical and technical context.
From vehicle meetings to flea markets and technology fairs
In addition to trade fairs, theme days, customer events and flea markets, Enter Technikwelt regularly organizes vehicle meetings, which are often based on brands, years of manufacture or origin.
These events bring together classic car owners and enthusiasts from all over Switzerland.
Film and music fans are also drawn to annual themed events such as the Filmautotreffen, which focuses on numerous rolling legends from film and television, or the Oldtimer & Rock'n'Roll event with vehicles from the 1950s and 60s and a live concert.
There is also an annual vintage car parts market. The Enter Technikwelt offer is rounded off by museum tours and workshops that convey the history of technology in an understandable and interactive way.
