On September 13, 2025, Emil Frey is auctioning off a diverse range of vehicles in Safenwil. These range from A for Aurelia B20 S to X for XK 150 DHC, from 2500 to 650,000 Swiss francs and from 1950 to 2013 (with the oldest also being the cheapest vehicle). There are a few real highlights among the vehicles, such as a Land Cruiser pick-up in condition 1.
Lancia Aurelia B20 S (1958)
The B20 offered here is from the sixth and last series, so it already has the De Dion rear axle, which combines precise wheel guidance with the lowest possible unsprung mass. It was originally delivered to Portugal. The current Swiss owner imported the Aurelia from Belgium in 2016 and has since invested around 70,000 francs, of which all invoices are available. A FIVA passport with condition category A/3 attests to this piece of Italian automotive engineering and outstanding originality.
Fiat 500 Topolino (1950)
The example on offer is a Type C from 1949 onwards and is being offered as a restoration object in condition 4. Accordingly, some work is required before the last MFK from 2009 can be renewed. Built in 1950 and with an estimated price starting at 2500 francs, the Fiat is both the oldest and the cheapest car in the auction. This makes it a good opportunity for a younger person to get into the classic car hobby for little money.
Dino 246 GT (1971)
This Dino was manufactured in October 1971, registered in Switzerland for the first time in December of the same year and traded in at Ferrari dealer Foitek in Zurich in 1979. By 2022, the vehicle had changed hands four times. A Ferrari certificate and an FIA Identity Card from 2018 confirm its originality. In 2013, the engine and brake system were extensively overhauled.
Today, the car is in exceptional condition. In 2022, it was extensively restored inside and out by the specialists Zanasi in Maranello. The paintwork in Azzurro La Plata and the interior design with red quilted trim and color-coordinated racing seats are a tribute to the 250 GT Berlinetta Tour de France from 1957, whose color scheme has been masterfully adapted here. With an estimated price of up to 650,000, it is by far the most expensive car in the auction.
Jaguar XK 150 DHC (1958)
This XK150 is delivered to Jaguar Cars in New York City on November 8, 1957. At the end of the 1980s, the convertible comes to Germany, where the body and mechanics undergo a thorough restoration and the exterior color is changed from cream to black. The engine block was also replaced with a 3.8 liter and the interior was modified. Photographic documentation and most of the invoices for the total restoration cost of DM 189,000 are available, as are later invoices.
Today, the XK150 presents itself in a very nice condition including a new soft top, whereby the current owner has installed additional bucket seats for more comfort.
Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-Up (1967)
The Land Cruiser on offer will be completely rebuilt in South Carolina in 2017-2018. In total, over 2000 hours of work went into the rebuild, with the repainting in the original color. The in-line six-cylinder engine is also dismantled and completely overhauled. Around 750 pictures document the entire restoration. According to the Classic Data brief assessment, the finished vehicle is in condition 1 (-).
At the beginning of October 2018, the restorer sells the Land Cruiser to a doctor in Hamburg, and in 2022 it receives a fresh MOT with an H license plate in Germany. At the end of September of the same year, the consignor buys it and exhibits it at Motorworld in Munich in the meantime.
