It has already been two years since the last "normal" beauty contest took place at Coppet Castle near Geneva on beautiful Lac Léman. Then came Corona and this pandemic is still not really over. At very short notice, organizer Mathias Doutreleau has now received a permit for an event on 20 June 2021 and preparations for a somewhat different concours have progressed at a correspondingly rapid pace.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions and the event taking place in two weeks' time, there will be no judging and anyone who owns a beautiful classic car from 1920 to 1985 can register. The motto is: "The car you love!"
However, a maximum of 90 to 120 cars can drive into the castle courtyard. Registration is therefore mandatory and involves a small participation fee of CHF 65.00/85.00 (1 car, 2 people). Those who register by June 9, 2021 will pay the lower fee. Registrations will be accepted until June 15, 2021.
Attractive program
The day begins with a short drive at 10:00 a.m., starting from a private vineyard (registered participants will receive the exact coordinates directly). At around 11:00, the classic car drivers and their cars will then arrive at the Château de Coppet, where the vehicles will be on display until around 18:00. Then the event ends.
You can cater for yourself or order a picnic basket filled with tasty specialties on the event website.
Spectators can also enjoy the beautiful cars, but they should also register in advance (from 15 June); a small registration fee compensates the organizers for the considerable effort involved. A maximum of 300 people can be admitted, but if this number is not reached by 11:00, spontaneous visitors will also be admitted.
