The time has finally come: The Technik Museen Sinsheim Speyer will open their doors to visitors again from March 8, 2021. The two leisure facilities are getting off to a flying start and opening for the 2021 season.
It has been quiet in and around the museum halls for long enough. The shining eyes of the technology fans and the laughter of the children were missing. All the more reason to be pleased that a bit of normality is now returning.The staff are waiting in the wings, the exhibition areas are gleaming, the stores and bistros have stocked up their shelves and fridges - now it's just a matter of unlocking the doors. The safety of visitors continues to be a top priority. Thanks to the large areas outside and in the halls, distances can be easily maintained and increased cleaning intervals provide additional safety in the visitor areas.
Visitors can use the new online form to register for their visit or purchase admission tickets directly.
Although the restaurants will remain closed for the time being, tasty dishes such as pizza, burgers and pasta will be available to take away in Sinsheim and Speyer.

Anniversaries to celebrate
In addition to the reopening, there are two other reasons to celebrate, as the Technik Museum Sinsheim will be 40 years old on May 6, 2021 and the Technik Museum Speyer will be 30 years old on April 11, 2021. To mark the anniversaries, several coronavirus-compliant events are planned to take place at both locations throughout the year.
The museums were already able to score points in 2020 with their spacious halls and open spaces. The corresponding hygiene concepts and the approval by the responsible regulatory authorities were well received. "Last year, we learned what visitors attach particular importance to. We are now using the experience we have gained to offer guests an experience despite the restrictions," reports Managing Director Matthias Templin.
Events are to be held, albeit in a reduced form, in accordance with the current regulations. Preparations are therefore in full swing, as regulations need to be reviewed and hygiene concepts and alternatives developed. Visitors can find current dates in the museums' online events calendar.
There is also news in the area of special exhibitions. In Speyer, the new Lindenstrasse room with the backdrops of Café Bayer and the Akropolis restaurant will be on display at the end of March.
In Sinsheim, motor racing is in the starting blocks. From March 26, 2021, the museum will be presenting the new special exhibition "Red Bull World of Racing" in the modern Hall 3. Visitors will gain unique insights into the world of racing!
