Around six months ago, the two associations FSVA and SwissOldtimers decided to unite and merge under the new name "Swiss Historic Vehicle Federation" (SHVF) as the only classic car association in Switzerland.
Since then, the board of the SHVF has constituted itself on the one hand, while at the same time consolidating association activities and dealing with the tasks ahead on the other. A new "logo" was also adopted.
As part of the representation of the Swiss classic car scene in the FIVA World Federation, activities continued intensively, particularly in vehicle testing to obtain a FIVA Identity Card. As a result, over 500 historic vehicles have been inspected and the corresponding documents issued to date in 2015.
At the FIVA General Assembly in Krakow, the SHVF was recognized as the legal successor to SwissOldtimers and the FSVA as a member and Autorité Nationale FIVA. This means that all corresponding rights and obligations in connection with FIVA representation in Switzerland are also transferred to the SHVF.
The next important dates for the SHVF are
- President's Day (evening) on January 15, 2016 in Baden: Exchange of information, wishes and expectations of SHVF members
- Technical seminar on January 16, 2016 in Baden: Training of inspectors with regard to working with the FIVA Identity Card, this also with regard to innovations in connection with the FIVA Technical Code.
Further information can be found on the SHVF website.
