The PS.Speicher in Einbeck reopens its experience exhibition on May 7. Acrylic walls, distancing rules and hand sanitizer are just part of the hygiene concept with which the PS.Speicher team guarantees its guests a safe visit.
At the same time, mouth and nose protection in the form of an everyday or community mask is mandatory. It is also possible to cover your face with a scarf or shawl. Children up to the age of 6 and people with illnesses that do not allow them to wear a mask (e.g. cardiovascular diseases) are exempt from this obligation. In addition, group bookings are only possible to a very limited extent and after individual clarification.
The PS.Depot Lkw+Bus in Otto-Hahn-Straße reopens on May 23.
PS. depots open in stages
Also affected by the measures to contain the pandemic is the opening of the PS. depots planned for mid-July. "We actually wanted to present Europe's largest collection of classic cars with a loud bang. As this is not possible, we intend to open the individual depots gradually.
We expect to open the PS.Depot Kleinwagen and the visitor center in July," hopes Lothar Meyer-Mertel, Managing Director of PS.Speicher. After that, further depots are to be made accessible over the course of the year in order to finally get off to a good start in 2021.
New event concept
"Unfortunately, we also have to cancel the Einbecker Oldtimertage 2020 from July 17 to 19 due to the regulations to protect against new infections with the corona virus. This is particularly painful for us, as this is our biggest and most important event of the year," says Anika Schmitt, Event Manager at PS.Speicher. Especially as the PS.Speicher rally on July 18, which has been fully booked since February, is also affected by the cancellation. The route would have covered a good 150 kilometers through the region around Einbeck. Instead, PS.Speicher would like to introduce a new event concept called "Kaffee & Karossen" at PS.Speicher soon.
The concept takes into account the necessary restrictions for events. Participants should be given the opportunity to come together in the parking lot and exchange ideas "at a distance" in the context of petrol conversations. "Not only drivers of vintage and classic cars can meet here, but also tuning fans or sports car and US car owners. Everything is informal, relaxed and in compliance with social distancing regulations," says Schmitt. The first Einbeck Commercial Vehicle Days (May 21 to 24) and the Störy Revival Small Car Meeting (June 13) had already been canceled by PS.Speicher at the beginning of April.
Presenting content online
The planned bicycle rally to the PS.Speicher on the occasion of International Museum Day on May 17 has also been canceled. Due to the corona restrictions, the organizers of the nationwide events are now offering a digital way to live up to this year's motto "Museum for all": On the website www.museumstag.de, many museums are inviting visitors to take virtual tours, live tours or video conversations with staff. PS.Speicher is contributing three short videos on the topic of "electromobility", which will be online from May 11 to 17.
Lectures of the FörderFreunde take place
The FörderFreunde PS.Speicher will resume their lecture events in June in compliance with the relevant templates and precautionary measures. The lecture with Dr. Ulrich Schiefer will be postponed to 19 June at 7 p.m. and will replace the travelogue with the 'Tiger Duck'. The subsequent events will take place as planned.
