2024 is not like any other year for PS.Speicher: This is because it will be the tenth anniversary of the opening of Europe's largest classic car museum. Embedded in the "Year of Mobility", the Einbeck Classic Car Days from June 28 to 30, 2024 are therefore also something very special. Because traditionally, the PS.Speicher also celebrates its birthday on this weekend.
The FörderFreunde PS.Speicher e.V. are already inviting guests on Friday: Jürgen Becker will be performing his cabaret program "Deine Disco, Geschichte in Scheiben - Wie Musik Politik macht" in the PS.Halle.
The birthday of the PS.Speicher
On Saturday, the 220 participating vehicles will be in the spotlight from 10:00 am. Behind every two, three or four-wheeler is a personal story, often even an emotional one. The PS.Speicher presenters will tell them and shed light on the history of the vehicles. Once again, the "Einbecker Automobilclub" (EAC) is helping with the rally and organizing the special stages, supported by friendly clubs from the region. Further help comes from the car dealerships Hermann, Hübner and Siebrecht.
This year, the PS.Speicher-Rallye will lead from Einbeck to the south of Lower Saxony - to Duderstadt in a wonderful historic old town. The lunch break will take place there from around 12:30 pm.
At the PS.Speicher itself, the organizers will provide entertainment throughout the day: Einbeck native and street musician "John Poppyseed" and his band will immerse the area in music from the genres of rock, reggae, pop, blues and folk. In addition, several food stands with street food, walking acts and a children's program will shorten the waiting time until the rally vehicles return to the PS.Speicher at around 3:30 pm. The motor journalist and motorcycle and small car curator of PS.Speicher, Andy Schwietzer, will present the arrival of the cars.
Parallel to the rally, Einbeck Marketing invites you to the Mobility Mile in Einbeck city center on Saturday from 10:00 am. The local car dealers Hermann, Kerkau, Siebrecht and Harzer E-Bike will be presenting various vehicle models on the market square, Hallenplan, Tiedexer Straße and Lange Brücke and inviting visitors to take a test drive.
The rally participants come together from 19:00 for the drivers' evening. The sponsor of the main prize and the rally is BELMOT, the classic car insurance company of Mannheimer Versicherung AG. The prize is a driving safety training course for classic cars at the Nürburgring, including overnight accommodation. With Classic Data, PS.Speicher has gained the market leader for the valuation of classic cars as a sponsor. Classic Data and Belmot are also supporting the VIP Lounge together with the FörderFreunde PS.Speicher e.V.. As in the previous year, the ADAC is donating the so-called "Pechvogelpreis". The FREIgeist Hotel Einbeck is contributing a "Best, Most Beautiful, Most Awesome" (B.E.S.T.) prize - the winning vehicle will be selected by a jury of experts.
With party
From 21:00, the cover band "update4" will take to the stage. The musicians have already got the inner courtyard dancing for PS.Speicher's fifth birthday: varied and atmospheric - well-known pop hits will be joined by unforgettable classics and emotional ballads. The band is fronted by the head designer of PS.Speicher, Matthias Kaluza from Zwickau.
Other artists and their performances are also on the program: whether artists on the tower of the PS.Speicher, balloons at lofty heights or puppets on the ground. All Einbeck residents and visitors are invited to round off the tenth birthday of PS.Speicher with cabaret, live music and good conversation - and of course there will be a large birthday cake. Admission is free of charge.
Experience classic cars and eat well
On Sunday, the traditional parade through Einbeck and across the historic market square starts at 11:00 am. All vehicles built up to 2000 can take part in this spectacle. The Einbeck police and volunteer bikers will secure the parade. The founder couple of PS.Speicher, Gabriele Rehkopf and Karl-Heinz Rehkopf, lead the parade.
This is followed by an open Sunday in Einbeck's city center.
Traders from Einbeck will be opening their stores throughout the city from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and inviting people to go shopping. There will also be a large number of food trucks.
The PS.Speicher and the motorcycle, automobile, small car and truck + bus collections will be open between 10:00 and 18:00. Public tours of the "PS.Speicher treasure trove" will take place on Saturday at 11:00 and on Sunday at 11:00 and 15:00.
