Marcel A. Widler has been involved in vehicle technology for more than 40 years and founded the successful Oldtimer Center Eastern Switzerland with Goodtimer more than 20 years ago. When Corona prevented the classic cars from being brought to his workshop, he came up with the idea of a mobile service, a kind of Spitex for classic cars, called Oldtitex.
Widler integrated his trainee vehicle restorers, whom he teaches in Zurich and Yverdon-les Bains, into the project and started to set up a nationwide network for the mobile classic car service. Today, mobile workshops have been set up in Grosswangen LU and Giubiasco TI, and the next regional service station will follow in Oberriet SG on October 1, 2026. By 2030, around 20 such Oldtitex bases are to be set up.
At this year's Swiss Classic World in Lucerne from May 29 to 31, Marcel A. Widler and his three-person team will be presenting the Olditex service package for collection vehicles. The main focus of the service is to ensure the operational readiness and value retention of each vehicle: what begins with damage can lead to a maintenance backlog and later even to a loss of value. "Enjoyment comes from what works" - this is the credo of Widler and his team.
