Once a year, however, the Zwischengas makers publish "The Best of The Best", so to speak, in the 260-page Zwischengas annual magazine, which is distributed via direct sales and newsstands. In 2020, it was not only a review of the current year, but also included stories from the first years of zwischengas.com to mark Zwischengas' 10th anniversary.
New and improved/adapted reports
Anyone who thinks that reports and photos already published online will simply be reprinted is very much mistaken. 30 percent of the articles have been completely rewritten and over 50 percent have been extensively edited. And with almost 25,000 new photos published on zwischengas.com in 2020 alone and almost 1,200 newly published reports, the choice of material was already enormous. The 2021 annual magazine is also an anniversary publication to mark the 10th birthday of zwischengas.com.
Over 36 articles
The annual magazine contains over three dozen exciting articles, which take a special look at the events of the Corona year 2020 or evaluate the auction results of 2020, portray over 30 cars and talk about personalities such as Aurelio Lampredi, Jochen Rinds, Manfred Jantke and Bruce McLaren. There are also further reviews and long photo galleries.
Around 24 car brands represented
The list of cars portrayed in the articles alone is impressive, as it includes around two dozen brands from Alfa Romeo to Volkswagen. The fact that exotic cars such as Atalanta, CEMSA, Glas, Hotchkiss, Isotta-Fraschini, Morgan, Siata and TVR can also be found among them deserves special mention.
Special articles
A few special articles are briefly mentioned here. For example, the history of the two oldest Audi quattro still in existence is reviewed and the BMW Turbo and its later successor, the BMW i8, are compared.
A Porsche 968 was photographed on corona-empty highways, the NSU Ro80 was brought together with the Citroën GS Birotor.
