From September 2 to 4, 2022, around 160 automotive rarities from all over Europe can once again be admired in the uniquely circular baroque palace park of the Baden residential town of Schwetzingen near Heidelberg - arranged in chronological order from 1890 onwards.
This is only possible at Germany's most traditional Concours d'Elegance in Schwetzingen - and is ideal for fans and photographers, as you can stroll along the past of vehicle history, supplemented in 2022 by the anniversary "110th anniversary".The event will be complemented by the anniversary "110 Years of Bertone Bodies" and the special show "Röhr Automobiles", as well as the US Concours USCCC with the theme "Cadillac 120".
Almost all Röhr models ever built in one place
For the first time, it will probably be possible to see almost all the Röhr models ever built, but the rarest Röhr is probably the unique Röhr 8 Olympian from 1936 with Autenrieth bodywork, which is now back in Germany after a long time in the USA.
120 years of American luxury class
It is a little known fact that Cadillac has stood for the "standard of the world" since 1902. Among the Cadillacs in Schwetzingen will be very early models with 2- and 4-cylinder engines, but also a rare V16 from the 1930s and, of course, almost all variants from the 1950s and 1960s, including the famous "Heckflosser" of the late 1950s.
The elegant Allante convertible will not be missing either.
Sporty, elegant and quirky from Bertone
At Bertone, the range extends from the 1930s to the famous Iso Grifo, Lamborghini Miura or Espada and the Lancia Stratos to the prototype of the Mazda X81 from the 1980s and other rarities.
Rather patina and originality
Very important: All vehicles on display must be authentic and true to the original. A Concours d'Elegance shows reference vehicles that can serve as models for identical classic cars. This is monitored by an international jury according to the criteria of the FIVA world association.
Folk festival
Many clubs, exhibitors and dealers, the art exhibition and a wide range of gastronomic offerings, attractions and live music invite families and friends to linger in the Schlosspark. This also includes the ASC, founded in 1900 as the world's most traditional classic car club, which will once again be presenting the oldest and rarest automobiles - this time with pioneering cars from Benz and Daimler.
Or the clubs for Jaguar (commemorating 100 years of Schwalbe sidecars), Rolls Royce, Adler or the old Ford friends with a special theme.
A special attraction will be offered by selected Mercedes clubs, which will present milestones from the 30s, 50s and 60s and anniversary cars together with Mercedes-Benz-Classic.
Württembergische will be there for the 9th time as the most important local partner and will be offering its expertise in all aspects of historic collector's vehicles and their insurance cover with its own team of experts.
The Classic Gala Schwetzingen fits in perfectly with the times, as the milestones of automotive history present themselves elegantly resting in the ambience of one of the most beautiful baroque parks in the world in close proximity like pieces of jewelry in a unique case.
