At this year's Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, the American auction house Broad Arrow Auctions is organizing an auction in Europe for the first time. It has now been announced that it has strengthened its team for the conquest of the European continent.
Philip Kantor, Gregory Tuytens and Paul Gaucher are experienced classic car and auction specialists, while Valérie Simonent, Ryan Cigana and Simon Drake are strengthening Broad Arrow's operations (including marketing) in Europe.
"This group of highly respected industry veterans adds significant depth and experience to the Broad Arrow team as we continue to grow our business in Europe," said Karsten Le Blanc, Head of EMEA Region and Broad Arrow Capital. "We are delighted to have her on board as we look to expand our client network, build exciting new relationships and enhance the global Broad Arrow client experience."
"We are pleased to have several exceptional new team members with deep industry experience join us as we launch our auction business in Europe," added Kenneth Ahn, President of Broad Arrow. "In just over three years, Broad Arrow has achieved tremendous growth driven by truly passionate and talented team members. We have a strong reputation for attracting and retaining top talent and have a proven track record in the industry as we strive to be the best advisor, market maker and financier for collectors and car enthusiasts worldwide."
Philip Kantor, who will work at Broad Arrows as Vice Chairman of Europe and Senior Car Specialist, has been in the auction business for a long time. Initially at Christie's and from 2007 at Bonhams, he organized many major auctions and built up an extensive client network. He is a true classic car enthusiast, inherited his passion for old cars from his father and has also taken part in many events in his own vehicles, including an Alfa Romeo 1600 GTA and a BMW 3.0 CSL. He is due to start work at Broad Arrows in June 2025.
Gregory Tuytens and Paul Gaucher have also worked at Bonhams in various roles and will start before Kantor in May and April 2024.
Other specialists such as Daniele Turrisi and Jean-Louis Baldenza have already joined the team and they will be joined in the coming months by other capacities such as Valéerie Simonet, Ryan Cygana and Simon Drake.
It will be interesting to see how the European expansion of Broad Arrows continues in the coming months and years, while Bonhams has to be rather worried about the large bloodletting of recent months and years.
