It is a peculiar collection that Kingsley Curtis has put together over the years. It ranges from a 130-year-old horse-drawn carriage to the highly coveted early Mercedes-Benz 300 SL from 1955, but also includes a Ford Escort RS Cosworth from 1992, a veritable youngtimer. And Bonhams will auction off the 16 examples, 14 cars and two carriages, on March 20, 2016 at the Goodwood Members Meeting.
Contrasts
The spectrum could hardly be greater, with a Singer Ten from 1919 on one side and a 1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth on the other.
A horse-drawn carriage from around 1880 is on offer, as is an Aston Martin V8 Volante from 1981.
Pre-war rarities
The rare pre-war vehicles collected by Kingsley Curtis, such as the La Buire 12A from 1924 or the Bean 11.9 HP from 1920, are certainly something special.
Specialties are certainly also the Bentley as 3-Litre TT Replica from 1923 or the Rolls-Royce 20 HP from 1923.
