To coincide with Retro Classics, Bonhams will be organizing an auction dedicated entirely to the brand with the three-pointed star for the second time on 28 March 2015 at the Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart.
The first vehicles that will make the mouths of classic car gourmets water have already been named.
The German industrialist Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach (1907 to 1967) was the previous owner of an elegant 1960 Mercedes Benz 300 SL Roadster, which is expected to find a new owner for between 900,000 and 1,200,000 euros.
Even more majestic is a Mercedes-Benz 540 Kompressor Cabriolet from 1938, which is to be completely restored and sold for between 2,000,000 and 2,500,000 euros, including the spare wheel and cover.
In total, Philip Kantor, who is responsible for this auction at Bonhams, expects a selection of around 40 Mercedes classics to go under the hammer in Stuttgart in March. The 2014 auction achieved a total turnover of 12 million euros.
Further information on the Stuttgart auction can be found on the Bonhams website.
