Hardly any other brand belongs as naturally in a classic car’s cockpit as Blaupunkt. Blaupunkt is expanding its “Frankfurt Stereo” retro car radio family: Three new design front sets allow users to visually customize the front of the units to match their vehicle and personal taste, or to replace worn-out front panels without having to replace the entire radio. Available now in stores at a suggested retail price of 99 euros each.
Modern Technology, Classic Look
With the “Frankfurt Stereo,” “Frankfurt Stereo Classic,” and “Frankfurt Stereo MB” retro radios, Blaupunkt combines the latest audio technology with a look faithful to the originals for classic cars. The three models were developed specifically for numerous classic cars from the 1960s and 1970s. The new Design Front Sets complement this range of accessories and allow for flexible customization of the front panel.
One radio – three designs
Depending on the set chosen, the front bezel and controls can be adapted to the vehicle’s interior, personal taste, or a specific style—ranging from a subtle, classic look to a striking chrome finish. This allows an existing “Frankfurt Stereo” to be given a different front design without having to replace the entire unit, and it blends harmoniously into a variety of dashboards.
Also Intended as a Replacement Part
The sets also serve as replacements for damaged or worn-out front components. Instead of completely replacing a fully functional radio, only the exterior parts are replaced—a practical and sustainable way to maintain the radio’s appearance over the long term.
Complete Conversion Kit
The Design Front Sets are designed as comprehensive installation kits and include all essential components for the respective front panel conversion. The package includes, among other items, mounting frames, spacer rings, outer and inner front bezels, front and rear control knobs, mounting nuts, locking plates, and washers. It also comes with removal tools, mounting wrenches, and a cleaning cloth. The three variants are based on the characteristic design elements of the “Frankfurt Stereo” family.
