The exclusive event in the heart of Europe
From September 2 to 4, 2016, the alphabet of automotive history will meet for the 12th time to compete for the valuable trophies of the Int. Concours d'Elegance, the classic car event that has established itself beyond national borders as the leading exhibition event for classic automobiles of the highest quality.
The unique Schwetzingen Palace Gardens provide the stage for an exclusive event for young and old. Nowhere else are classic automobiles presented in such a spacious and exclusive atmosphere in the context of their respective decades. Past Concours d'Elegances have been among the most exclusive presentations of classic automobiles in the world.
An automotive journey through history
During the 12th Internat. Concours d'Elegance Automobile AvD-Classic-Gala Schwetzingen will take you on a journey through time, starting in 1885 and divided exactly according to the FIVA categories. Start with the veterans up to 1904, experience the imperial era up to 1918, then the upswing of the 1920s and the first heyday of the 1930s. The economic miracle era and the dreams of the 1960s await you in the western half of the park. The exotic cars of the seventies and the classics of the future also await you, complemented by various interesting special shows with around 180 vehicles from all decades.
The year 2016 will again feature a host of attractive and rare special bodies in special shows on the themes of "60 Years of the Mercedes 220 S W180/II", "Small Cars", "Super Sports Cars and Prototypes", "German Special Bodies" and "Pierce-Arrow Luxury Automobiles".
An international jury of designers, engineers, historians, experts and celebrities, chaired by the head of the FIA's Historic Archives Commission, will select the best vehicles based primarily on the criteria of authenticity and fidelity to the original.
4th USCCC for "true Americans" in Schwetzingen
The 4th USCCC - US Classic Car Concours is also entering its fourth round with authentic, true-to-original vehicles of all American brands. Among the many meetings for American cars in Europe, there are only a few genuine Concours d'Elegance for original vehicles without customization and midi-cars - the true Americans. This year there will also be a parade of the most important models since 1955 and "US sports cars" on the theme of "Mercury - Ford's star brand".
The USCCC will take place on a separate area in direct connection with the renowned 12th Int. Concours d'Elegance AvD-Classic-Gala Schwetzingen in the breathtaking circular castle park near Heidelberg. The Internat. The international jury primarily assesses the original condition, authenticity, quality of restoration and period modifications. A large number of prizes will be awarded for the various US makes in the FIVA model year categories.
