After careful consideration of the current situation, the organizers of Veterama have come to the conclusion that it would be irresponsible to maintain the date of 8 to 10 October 2021 for Veterama Mannheim.
The reasons are:
- Incidence figures are currently rising by around 30% every day compared to the previous week. The occupancy rate of intensive care beds has doubled in a short space of time.
- The number of people refusing to be vaccinated is still disappointingly high.
- So far, the responsible authorities have not been able to issue a definitive permit or even hold out the prospect of one.
- With around 25 percent of exhibitors and visitors coming from abroad, it is impossible to predict how this proportion will affect Veterama under the current coronavirus developments.
- The current hygiene concept would have meant that around a third of the stands in the outdoor area would have been eliminated.
There are already exhibitors who are canceling their stand bookings due to the uncertain situation. It is therefore impossible for us to estimate how many exhibitors will actually set up their stands and how many visitors will actually come to Mannheim. There is a risk that exhibitors and visitors will go home disappointed. The damage to the image of the "Veterama" brand name would be considerable.
The organizers of Veterama would like to apologize to all those who were disappointed by the decision to cancel. They would also like to thank those who understood the decision. And the organizers would especially like to thank the customers who have called over the last few weeks and with whom the situation could be discussed in detail.
All hopes are now pinned on next year and that Veterama Mannheim will take place again in its usual setting on October 7-9, 2022.
