It was to be expected, now it's official. The Swiss classic car show in Lucerne, the Swiss Classic World 2020, planned for May 24/25, 2020, also has to be postponed. However, organizer Bernd Link assures us that it will take place in Lucerne in 2020.
"Due to the current situation, we have decided, after consultation with Messe Luzern, the city of Lucerne, our media partners and many other stakeholders, to postpone this event to the second half of 2020 as a result of the development of the spreading coronavirus and the measures ordered by the Federal Council," Link explains in an email and continues:
"Due to the daily changing situation, we will unfortunately not be able to announce the definitive new date until the beginning of April. Until then, we will remain in contact with as many of those involved as possible and set a new date."
The cancellation is also a hard blow for Bernd Link, as preparations were in full swing and practically all stand spaces had been rented out. However, in view of the current situation and its rapid development, the health risks for exhibitors and visitors and the fact that many companies will have other priorities in the coming weeks, the decision was nevertheless made to postpone the event in the interests of the cause.
The Swiss Classic World website will provide information on current developments and the postponement date as soon as new information is available.
