The Arosa ClassicCar hill climb is one of the classics of historic racing in Europe. In fact, it is the only hill climb in Switzerland that takes place annually and meets the FIA requirements. Accordingly, there is also a racing class in which the cars are driven at full speed.
With average speeds of over 100 km/h on the approximately 7.8 km long mountain race track from Langwies to Arosa, the uphill and downhill track (there is also a 1.2 km downhill section) feels like the Nürburgring of the mountains, not least because of the 76 bends, which drivers need a lot of training to memorize.
For the 2013 event, which will take place between 29 August and 1 September, the organizers had to draw up new regulations in consultation with the Swiss racing authority ASS (Auto Sport Schweiz), which will have a direct impact on the participants. For example, every driver, regardless of whether they are competing in the regularity or racing class, must now have a driver's license and every car must have a car pass. However, these are not insurmountable hurdles, as the FIA-HRCP (Historic Regularity Car Pass) is sufficient for the car in the regularity class and the INT-D day license and the historic INT-H-B annual license for the driver, which is also available without the familiar two-day training course. However, you should set aside some preparation time and a few extra francs.
The new regulations can be viewed online and registration is also carried out via an online entry system. For further information, please refer to the Arosa ClassicCar website.
For the Arosa ClassicCar 2013, the date of receipt of the entry will be one of the criteria for confirming the entry. The closing date for entries is June 17, 2013.
