The 15th Klassikwelt Bodensee will return to Friedrichshafen from June 7 to 9, 2024. According to project manager Roland Bosch, trends in the classic car sector have developed noticeably since the trade fair began in 2008.
Whereas in the past, it was mainly high-gloss classic cars that were in demand, today veterans that have aged with dignity and have a traceable history and beautiful patina are also in demand.
Rising visitor numbers
Klassikwelt Bodensee is increasingly establishing itself as a sales fair and is also recording rising visitor numbers. Last year, these rose from 31,300 to 37,200.
The market for spare parts at Klassikwelt Bodensee is also booming: DIY mechanics can get advice from the clubs and be instructed by experts. At the trade fair in Friedrichshafen, you can meet classic car experts - from the brand specialists in the clubs to experienced old master mechanics who still know how to handle old technology.
Dreams from your own youth
As classic car fans get older, their preferences also change. According to Roland Bosch, vehicles from the 1960s and 1970s are currently very popular, but the 1980s and 1990s are catching up.
Pre-war models, on the other hand, are more for special enthusiasts today - here, too, you can feel the generational change. However, pre-war racing cars are still a stable and growing market.
Best fully equipped
Vehicles with full equipment are particularly in demand: sunroofs, leather upholstery, sports versions as well as convertibles and coupés. What all generations have in common is the desire to fulfill their youthful dreams. They also invest in value retention.
New date at the beginning of June
With the new date at the beginning of June, the 15th Klassikwelt Bodensee will take place a few weeks later than in previous years. Traditionally, the clubs in the A-axis halls and the parts market in the B-axis are at the heart of the event, with the role as a sales fair moving to the fore.
Well-known dealers and brands are represented in the B halls; the outdoor area is included, as is the classic car parking in the front row on the grounds. The event also includes vintage racing on the exhibition circuit with classic racing cars and motorcycles as well as an air show with well-known flying classics. Special shows are also planned, such as "25 classics from ten nations", the Puch clubs from Austria, "Mythos BMW" and more will be part of the new edition.
The 15th Klassikwelt Bodensee will take place from Friday, June 7, to Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the exhibition grounds in Friedrichshafen. Further information can be found on the Klassikwelt Bodensee website.
